Refer Someone to PLECCO. Get Paid When They Do.
Almost every client PLECCO has ever worked with came from someone making an introduction. So we’d rather pay the people who do it than spend the money on advertising.
If you know a business running on software that’s holding them back, introduce us. If it turns into paid work, you get a share of what we actually collect.
What You Earn
Services work — rescues, builds, fractional CTO
- 10% of what we collect from the client over their first 12 months.
- 15% instead, if you help scope or close the work — joining a call, helping define what they need.
- Capped at $5,000 per referred client.
Project X Pro subscriptions
- 25% of their subscription revenue, every month, for 12 months.
And the business you refer gets something too
10% off their first invoice, up to $1,000. On our $1,500 Rescue Triage, that’s $150 off. You’re not asking them for a favor — you’re bringing them a discount.
What That Looks Like In Practice
You introduce a company whose previous developer disappeared. They start with a $1,500 Rescue Triage, then hire us for a three-month rescue at around $10,000 a month. We collect $31,500. You earn $3,150 — or $4,725 if you helped scope it.
You introduce someone who subscribes to Project X Pro at $99 a month and stays a year. You earn about $297, paid as they pay us.
These are illustrations of how the math works, not a promise of any particular deal size.
How You Get Paid
- Quarterly, within 30 days of the end of each quarter.
- On money we’ve actually received — not on what’s been signed, quoted or invoiced. If a client doesn’t pay, there’s nothing to share, and we won’t pretend otherwise.
- Refunds and chargebacks are deducted from later payouts.
- If you’re a current PLECCO client, you can take it as credit on your own invoice instead of a payment.
- US tax rules mean we need a W-9 from you when you enroll, and we file a 1099 if you earn more than $600 in a calendar year.
The Rules, Plainly
- Anyone can refer. You don’t have to be a client.
- Make the introduction in writing — email or message — before we’ve contacted them. That’s what establishes the referral.
- If they’re already in our pipeline, the referral doesn’t apply. We’ll tell you straight away if that’s the case.
- If they went cold with us more than 90 days ago, your referral does count.
- PLECCO employees and contractors can refer, but not for cash.
- We need the referred business to consent to us reaching out. Please don’t hand over someone’s details without telling them.
- We’ll confirm in writing when a referral is registered, and tell you when it converts.
Make an Introduction
Email info@plecco.net with the subject “Referral introduction” and tell us four things: who you are, who you’re introducing and how to reach them, what’s going wrong for them, and confirmation that they’re happy to hear from us.
Prefer a form? Use the referral form below — it goes straight to our team, tagged as a referral.
Want to talk it through first, or hand us an introduction live? Book a 30-minute intro call.
We reply to every introduction within one business day.
Questions People Ask
Do I have to sell anything?
No. An introduction is enough. We’ll take it from there. The higher 15% rate is there if you want to be involved, not because you have to be.
When do I find out whether it converted?
We confirm receipt of the introduction right away, and we tell you when they become a paying client. You won’t have to chase us to find out.
What if I refer more than one business?
Each one is treated separately, and the $5,000 cap applies per referred client, not per referrer. There’s no limit on how many you introduce.
What kind of business is a good fit?
An operating business — not a prototype — typically $3M to $25M in revenue, with a real system that isn’t working: a payments or fintech platform, a rental or operations workflow held together by manual steps, or a build a previous agency left unfinished. Payments-adjacent businesses are where we do our strongest work.
Can you change or end the program?
We can change these terms going forward, but any referral already registered is paid out under the terms in place when you made it. We won’t change the deal on you after the fact.
