For those folks discovering simplenews and looking for ways to implement it. I've put together this short but straigt-forward instructional post with you in mind.
How to create a newsletter?
- Navigate to Content Management -> Newsletters -> Newsletters -> Add Newsletter
- Fill out the pertinent information such as Newsletter name, description, from address, etc.
- Click save
How to add a user to your newsletter?
In order to add a user or in other words an email address to your existing newsletter you want to follow the following steps:
- Navigate to Content Management -> Newsletters -> Subscriptions -> Mass Subscribe
- Add the email address in the dialog box (if adding multiple address make sure you separate them using either commas, a space or a new line)
- Then click on the newsletter that you want to add the user(s) to
- Click submit and your done with adding a user to your newsletter
How to create and send a newsletter issue?
- Navigate to Create Content -> Newsletter Issue
- Complete the title and body sections
- Select which newsletter to create from dropdown menu
- Select one of the sending options (send test, don't send now, send newsletter)
- Click on preview if you'd like to preview before sending (optional)
- Click send
