So I've been searching the web for a new toy recently. No, not something that I would just play with and forget about in two months, but something that I could actually use. I was searching for a new cell phone. Granted, my phone is only a few months old, I'm still eligible for a new device at a discounted price. Couple this with the fact that I'm no longer out of contract, and you have quite the prudent shopper. As the landscape of the mobile services market shifts from focusing on coverage to focusing on device, I find myself in a bit of a bind.
Skype continues to push its innovative communication application to more and more platforms. Now it looks like they've invaded our television sets. This is one invasion that I welcome. Since I started using Skype, I've found that its just amazing to use when trying to stay in touch with family and friends. Being able to call friends halfway around the world for free...you just can't beat that...not to mention the joy of being able to let the little ones talk to and see on video their aunties, cousins and grandparents.
